On January 6th, according to the website of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, there were no reported deaths of Chinese citizens in a car accident near Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, on January 5.
According to the website, after the accident, the Chinese Consulate General in New York immediately activated the emergency response mechanism, emergency contact with the parties involved in handling the accident, sent working groups to the area near the site to verify the situation and provide assistance to possible Chinese citizens.
After checking with local police, hospitals and other departments, there have been no reports of deaths of Chinese citizens in the accident. Five overseas chinese and chinese students were verified among the injured. The Consulate General's Working Group has contacted four of them to express their condolences and concerns and to inform them of matters requiring assistance. The four persons are now in stable condition and the other one has been taken by a relative.
